Isla Mujeres
Isla Mujeres "Island of Women" was named either for the statues of topless goddesses found on the island by the Conquistadors, or because pirates used to stash their women here.
Eight miles off Cancun and a 40 minute boat ride, Isla Mujeres is a sliver of land 5 miles long and 400 yards wide; riding on some of the bluest Caribbean waters.
Take the ferry from the Puerto Juarez pier or hire a water taxi at Playa Linda in the Cancun hotels zone.
Don't be surprised to find more Europeans than Americans in this year-round resort.
Enjoy great snorkeling and diving at El Garrafon National Park on the southern end of the island, and the north beach is perfect for topless sunning (you won't be alone).
Isla has a small central village with shops, restaurants, and bars in a laid back setting that is geared to foot traffic, bicycles, scooters, and electric carts.
View the sexiest clubwear, beachwear, and lingerie.
